Looking through other documents I’m not sure if the bvh did away with the impulse relay or not?

There’s also a Bosch publication for the DS21 fuel injection system with clearer diagrams:

Hi John / Paul,

I have a 1972 DS21 efi (manual box) and suffered similar problems after something ate my wiring. The later cars I believe had only 2 relays fitted post April 1971, with the impulse relay being omitted. I’ve not read through every post above in full, so may have missed this being mentioned somewhere.

Assuming you haven’t yet resolved your issues:-

If you can download a copy of “D repair manual 814 vol 1 March 1974” it shows the wiring diagram and parts schedule etc from p372 (page number taken from pdf reader). There is a also more detailed description of the connections to the ECU and which wires / components they connect to – this I found very helpful on my car (p379 onwards). It’s been a while since I’ve worked on mine but if you have any further questions I’ll do my best to help. Sorry but I’ve not worked out how to add photo’s yet!
