Wonderful sentiments in one if those links…thank goodness for ‘translate’
We’re just the other side of Tetbury, so very nearby.
Bro in law sent me this

All the best
Hi Chris,
Good link, thank you. Found https://nuancierds.fr/DT%20Pallas.htm a while ago but didn’t record it and lost it.
Mines a DS23 and it has the silver strip around the dash. Must check the drivers seat base and see if there is adjustment next time I start her up at the weekend. See to remember it’s dressed with carpet up to the seat but I’d like to drive high as I can in a car . I bought the car as a Pallas but never really knew for sure.
When the weather is better I’ll drive Belle over to Wiltshire (we’re Gloucestershire) and you can have a look. We’re off to France in the summer to celebrate joint 60th’s and 70 years for the beginning of DS production. Like you intend we keep her off the road in the Winter and when wet and she’s currently in a double skinned tent in our garage with a desiccant dehumidifier
Till the Spring
Sensible idea, I bet the necessary change caused quite a bit of potential for getting it wrong leading to damage and expense.
Thanks Paul, makes total sense. I’ll stop worrying :-).
I love the idea of this green ‘blood’ circulating around the car…seems consistent with the other worldly nature the DS had when people first saw it.
Roll on the good weather
Crikey Paul, that’s fantastic thank you very much for all your efforts with this. Having spoken to Jamie it is easy to tell he is a really nice person and as you say a good reputation from what I heard at your Stand at the NEC. Looking forward to meeting him. Good to hear that Sasha has a good reputation as well….his attention to detail is clear in the car itself so I am really pleased. Yes the lip number matches which is a relief. Thank you for the links and explanations.
All the best
Andrew
Dear Paul
Thanks for replying, very helpful. Yes it is a Harry Marten box I believe. She came with extensive photos and explanation of her restoration explaining the process. Sacha Rossen was commissioned with this project. Harry said that the writing on the photo of the box was his but he didn’t fit it. I didn’t spot this addition on the car when I bought her so only became aware when Stuart at Brodies noticed it after he serviced her. She is a cracking box, very quiet and top available gear is high…perfect for our trips to France. Although I have always found the available first quite high….but I drive accordingly.
From the generous time given to me by your club at the recent Classic Car show I was recommended to talk to Jamie at DS Workshops and ‘bingo’ he remembered the car and the electric gear selection which was a crawler gear, in effect. Which actually might be useful. as it happens Jamie is researching an electric 5th option…..which might be perfect. The idea is that …..and excuse the ignorance, hope I have this right…..shift the BVH selection down the box and have a 5th like an overdrive such as you select in an MG or Scimitar (I’m sure it’s more complicated than that) So when Jamie sees it in the Spring he may be beyond the prototype stage.
Anyway, Belle is tucked up quite tightly in a dehumidified tent in my garage and it is snowing but the chassis is 00FG0640 the next is 0057 027804 and there is a little disc that says…AC 527AS
Goodness it’s cold out ! I’m fascinated to know what the numbers mean, I now understand FG. Thank you
Andrew
