I might look at creating an English index page to the site that might help as a jumping off point. As we were (elsewhere) talking of the -15 degree heater, there’s a few pages on that which aren’t immediately obvious

https://nuancierds.fr/DT%20chauff%2015%20berline.htmSo much information and research is buried in the technical info pages of the site
https://nuancierds.fr/Dossier_technique.htm
The section on interior door handles and window winders is so exhaustive I can only be impressed at his level of research and the sheer number of photos of old cars he’s managed to find
Thank goodness for my web browser’s built in translator!
Hi Andrew,
I’m forever losing links so I’m glad this one was useful to you. Thank you, it’d be lovely to have a visit from belle and you, we’re just outside Malmesbury so not too far over the border.
Cheers
ChrisFunny you say that but after a chat with Darrin, I ended up at the same point that a DSuper 5 or maybe a DS21 with manual box would suit me (both DX2 engines). One thing Darrin mentioned that he’s so busy he can’t always find the times to do inspections which I can understand but he did show me a few common areas to look at on cars that were there at the D rally which was really helpful
Interesting to see it all laid out like that, I assume it tees into the existing under bonnet piping somehow. Need to get a D before I start buying heaters though!
Thanks Paul, pretty sure mine was a real mongrel with parts accumulated from wherever, I loved it though!
The DS23 I was going to look at has fallen through because the seller has decided to keep it and who can blame him.
One interesting one on Car and Classic is a DSuper5 in Frome

I thought the badge looked a bit bodged together but our friend at nuancier assures me that this is correct for early DSuper5’s

I love how there are always new nuggets to learn about these cars. I may take a look at it but there’s definitely some rot on it that needs dealing with. Thanks for the Car Builder Solutions idea Paul. I’d wondered about whether it was possible to build a modern -15 degree heater solution and there look like things there that could do the trick.
Thank you both. I love the customisations parts too, some amazing things in there, not sure the wife would go for a DS bed! I’ve wasted hours on that site.
The extra tips on the Pallas are useful and interesting to know. I wonder when the history of the DS is written whether there will be a day noted when the final non-Pallas D gets Pallased!
In the end I love the car and I was happy with my old DSuper 5(ish – it was actually a DSpecial which someone had put a 5 speed box in) so a car that I can use regularly is what I’m after. I’m off to look at a black 2.3 Pallas this week as a starter.I’ll also be clearing out the garage ready for the car which means selling my Fiat Barchetta and associated spares. A fun little car but my wife doesn’t enjoy trips in it whereas she used to like the DS so a change is coming!
