I have just taken delivery (!) of a left hand drive 1973 DS23 with manual clutch and five speed gearbox. The previous owner had the clutch replaced fairly recently but like Mr Mellows car the pedal has to be right on the floor before the clutch disengages…… The other day when in gear the pedal actually stuck in the ‘down’ position before flying up with a bang….. not nice….. I am worried that perhaps the clutch cable is fraying?…or do they just break rather than fray?……hoped to have a look at the car †ommorrow……
Any thoughts or help very welcome…. especially regarding cable adjustment, I only have the autobooks manual…..
