The panels are beyond any method of flattening out.

PB—i realised after I posted my reply that by fibre board, you meant hardboard (same in both terms).

I have decided to try and remake them myself as suggested. I’ve already stripped one but it took a while as the leather had been sealed against the inner panel face with some sort of resin. It will take a while but I’ll give it a go.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Thanks for your input guys.

From your comments I’m guessing my door cards are not made from standard materials then as they are made of hardboard and upholstered in nice quality beige leather. The whole interior was redone a few years ago prior to being left to get damp with no plastic membrane fitted on the doors.

    I’ll consider the options.

    Thanks again

Sorry—placed my request on this thread by mistake

Any recommendations as to where I can get my DS23 leather door cards refurbished. The car was stored in damp conditions and they’ve warped.

I’ll just adjust the pipe so it doesn’t bow upwards higher than that alignment hole like it nearly was before.

    Thanks

Thank you for the replies. I checked the drain tube and it appears to be clear, but the routing is suspect as it goes up before threading down towards the reservoir so I think this may be the issue causing fluid to come out of the hole more readily than normal. I only looked at this because of your replies so thanks for that. I won’t be able to start it again for awhile now as I’ve got the car in pieces at the moment but I will keep an eye on this once I restart. I do also need to buy a new bung. Thanks again.

    Thanks guys.

I didn’t really consider Citroen specialists other than ones that deal with classics but I need to make wider enquiries.

Thanks. I will contact French Classics and ask.

Yes I have the split spheres. I thought a test & re-gas might be cheaper than exchange plus I’ve no chisel marks on mine! Looks like no one in my part of the country does this though.

Thanks for that, ill take a look.

in reply to: Car lifts for a DS #9439

This is a very late reply as I’ve only just joined the club. I expect you’ve sorted it all by now but for what it’s worth:

I have a Strong man scissor lift that is ok for most cars but the DS has an exceptionally long wheelbase and I now wish I had purchased a four post lift which would suit the car best. Expensive of course, as is digging an inspection pit.

A two post lift is great, especially a half height one if roof space is restricted but requires a certain amount of concrete prep work to make sure the base of the posts will not pull out and tip over. This is why I went for a full height scissor lift but sadly also long before I purchased a DS.
