Well there’s a few Jeremy’s on FB – Kent, Bristol and Birmingham but nothing obvious about Citroen’s on any of the profiles? I don’t really know how to do all the technical stuff on FB though…
Does anyone know how I might contact him please?
Thanks!
Many thanks chaps! Got the messages – I’ll see if I can contact Jeremy (not sure how! I’ll try searching FB…
Thanks Paul. Thought I’d just ask on here first but yes, I bet I could get one from Mark or Darrin
Many thanks James. I’ll let you know how I get on! I haven’t got stuck yet but I’m sure I will soon.
Regards,
BobThanks Paul. I did email the East Midlands group when I joined the club but have never heard a peep. I’ve just sent an email to the group address again and hope I get a reply this time. If not, I might try calling Alan as his number is in the magazine. Regards, Bob
Yes that’s the address I used before ‘east-midlands @ etc etc’ but wasn’t sure if it worked as no reply. I’ll try again…
I can’t see (it’ll be operator error I’m sure!) how to PM someone on here either? Do you know?
Thanks,
BobI’m in Leicestershire Paul. There is a listing for an East Mids group (which I presume would be Leics, Notts, Derby, poss Northants – that sort of area – but I’ve never seen any reports or anything from it. It says a chap called Alan Kemp is the contact…I did send an email to the address listed in January 2023 shortly after I bought my C6 but never heard anything back. I wonder if those addresses are working properly because I’ve also emailed Brian Drummond a few times about DVCLA stuff and never had any replies from him either. I did speak to Brian on the phone though and he said he’d send me some info but I didn’t get anything. I know everyone is a volunteer though so understand (I’m involved with the Morris Register (I have a 1934 Morris Oxford) and that takes up time. It would be good to know of anyone near to me as well – always good to compare notes!
Morning Paul. Many thanks for this – just what I was looking for! I don’t think we met you yesterday. See arrived just as the AGM had started (but didn’t realise at the time) and there weren’t many people about! I met up with Graham Moreton who I know and I got some bits from Citroen Classics.
When weren’t to set off for the rally my blooming car wouldn’t start! So we came down in my daughters car, hence we couldn’t stay long at the rally because we had to get back home in time for her to take our grandson to a birthday party! All a bit of a mad rush and it wasn’t until we were driving off that my wife noticed the little sign about signing in etc! So I confess that I didn’t actually pay….
The dark blue car with it’s bonnet up at the end of the row was very much like mine except I don’t have a sunroof or cream interior, but the engine bay was the main thing I wanted to look at. Do you recall a Citroen garage in Leicester years ago called Reggio Garage? Well my car is ‘Mr Reggio’s’ own personal car from 1973. Very low mileage and well looked after. It’s been stored for a long time (dry) but inevitably I’ve discovered a bit more tin worm that there appeared to be at first look! The petrol tank was still half full from the nineteen eighties so I got a brand new tank to put in – but the floor under the tank has had it, so I have to replace that and I’m also replacing the boot floor rather than repair bits. The alternator had blown some diodes so I’ve had that all sorted and am just putting it back in. The car did start and all the suspension worked when I collected it so fingers crossed there won’t be too much mechanically to do – I understand that it had been regularly turned over (on a fuel supply rigged from a jerry can) whilst in storage so…
I’m really hoping I can get her going soon – so I’ll keep you posted!
I see that there is an East Midlands group listed in the magazine, but nothing seems to happen?
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
BobGraham is brilliant! Really helpful – I’ve had quite a few bits from him for my ’73 DS23IE Pallas that I’m getting back on the road.
Also, Citroen Classics do exchange ones (forgot to mention that before…)

I understand these chaps are rather good…
That’s smashing thanks Paul!

BobThe big problem with BookFace is all the blooming scammers! The various Citroen sites seem to be flooded with them (as indeed are many of the classic car sites). I do find the forums very useful but as you say not everyone is a member of them unfortunately.
D’Oh!! I feel such a twit! I only looked on the ‘Member Benefits’ bit where it just has his email address! Never looked at the previous page! Many thanks Paul!
Best,
