Sarah just had the heating system refurbished and liquid intelligence 115 was put back in. Can’t remember what was used before. Evans is supposed to be good and they do a sort of pre flush which you put in and it removes the old water coolant.
Yes it costs more but it could save a brake down with a burst pipe or maybe corrosion over the long term.
I’m happy with it but each to there own, hope that helps.Have you considered a waterless coolant, I have been using it for the last year. Good anti-corrosion for all the different metals and the coolant system is not pressurised, so less stress on the pipe work and the connections. Seems to be working well and a friend also used it with his Alpine and that has its engine in the back and needs all the help it can with cooling.
Just a thought.I like the Citroenian and I like looking at all the photos, which can’t be said of the forum. Maybe we should look into hosting and being able to upload directly. It can’t be to costly as the Alpine owners club do it and they probably only have a hundred or so paid up member. A photo or video clips really bring a post to life and help show tips and fixes. As a new member I am very grateful for the help I have received so far but I think a photo would mean a helpful member may be encourage to post were a long winded typed post may seem to time consuming.
I was at the D rally last month and it was great but no one can be bothered to upload photos to the forum so members that couldn’t go miss out and have to hope the Citroenian covers the event.
I hope we can make uploading easier it may add a bit of life to the forum. Just my opinion, loving the DS and club.I have just replaced my coolant with waterless. I’m not sure of the efficiency difference but I think it is meant to be better for the mix of metal used in the block and head, better anti-corrosion. Also the system is not pressurised so hoses may last longer.
It’s a bit of a new way but it works well in the Alpine GTA and these need all the help they can get with cooling. Thanks for the help.
Paul your 1967 book should be a big help and I will download to night. My car is left hand drive but this should be very helpful so thank you. Thanks for the quick response 👍
Thanks for that link. I’m a new DS owner and help finding parts is great. This site has what I was looking for.
Is there a list of part companies on the forum that I have missed? -
