If you don’t mind me asking, how much was the recon box?
Yes, you should always replace Citroen spheres in pairs.
Spheres off and one was full of fluid.
so problem solved
Thanks Paul, done all that.
Have come to the conclusion that it is the spheres and have ordered a pair form Pleiades.
What has thrown me is that the car was perfect 10 days ago when parked.
All I have done is changed the wheels after fitting a new set of XAS’s , I guess the rears spheres were borderline and all the pressurising and depressurising has caused the problem.
I’ll soon be sure when I take them off, if they are full of fluid!Yes I looked under the panels in the rear and I would say it is darker there, the roof and tailgate have been resprayed you can see the evidence but the structure is all original. I think my touch up is a little lighter than the resprayed parts but darker than the original. I can live with it and adjust the touch up paint to suit where I’m painting, no problem. There seems to be no evidence that Paris painted the structure with anything other than gris rose.
As I said I have got some ac136 gris rose touch up and it matches the roof and tailgate.
It does not match the main chassis, or the interior at the back.
btw the tailgate is the lighter grey on the inside.I am thinking it may be AC140 Gris Roue?
The seats are original.
The car is Paris built for South Africa.
I have had another closer look and was slightly wrong before.
The roof and tailgate are Gris Rose, the bodywork is Blanc Stellaire, I have touched a couple of paint chips with both of the paint colours I have and it matches.
The chassis and interior at the back is the lighter unidentified grey, also the inside of the tailgate.
I was as wrong about the door shuts these are also the lighter grey, this paintwork is original.
So the roof and tailgate must have been resprayed at sometime.
So I need to find out the colour of the lighter grey of the chassis.
This car has never had any major bodywork carried out and as I said is rust free with no repairs ever being made.Sorry should have said it is a Safari/Estate
It’s a ’69 RHD ID21 Break btw, Paris built.
It’s part number 6 in the RHD diagram that I need.
I found one at Citroen Andre, but theirs has 9 coils and I think is wound in the opposite direction.
