Lovely thanks Peter
Paul you are right in all assumptions other than I did remove the outer door handle to allow for full Re spray of door, I did mark it’s original position but maybe the new handle is slightly different in size, I’ll look again as I believe there is no spring to help release of thumb button other than the operation of lock to latch movement.
As always thanks for your input.Great photos and amazing work 👍
I agree it makes me Smile
When I find little things like the small chrome strip on the rear upper wings have small plastic clips but then there is a fixed clip nearer to the rear door end which allows you to slide the trim off after removing from the other plastic clips. This is a fixed metal clip!
I spent 15 minutes trying to work out why I couldn’t remove the trim 😂Thanks Colin
Thanks for all your pointers I think the body shop has found a match and if correct I’ll Post the code he’s got.
Thanks Paul I’ll give Adie a call.
Your right about different shades of black being more varied than first impressions! Thanks Colin 👍
I have done a thousand or so miles lately on 95 and since the introduction of 10% Ethanol I have used super unleaded as Paul mentions above without any issues, I try to fill up at non supermarket garages but that’s just my choice.
Great to hear you got it home without any issues 👍
Hello Gearoid,
Congratulations on your new purchase it sounds very interesting and I look forward to hearing more.
I’m not sure about lifting the suspension manually but I do know the recovery vehicle has to be a complete flat bed rather than the ramped ones you also see as the car will bottom out on the highest point of the angled flat bed on the cars low height setting.
I saw a well known tv programme showing a non running Ds being loaded onto a car trailer so maybe it’s just a matter of pulling the car on carefully if the Ramps are long enough. I’m sure someone with more knowledge on this site will be able to help more. Good luck with it all 🤞Paul I wonder if we spoke? I’ll look
Out for you in the photos 😉Well due to a bad weather forecast I was unable to attend work on Sunday which meant I was able to attend the D Rally! My first event in my Ds and what a great day meeting new people including my cars long term owners and putting names to faces. The Ds performed well over the 105 mile return trip on some beautiful B roads, looking forward to more in the future, sorry no photos but I believe there is lots on face book and upcoming in the next club mag. Thanks to all the organisers on the day much enjoyed thankyou.
Paul I think they are called Carcoon which can be used inside and out with humidity controlled air quality! Expensive but excellent product.
Have a great day to those that attend I’m unable to make it this year but looking forward to plenty of photos.
