Cheers Paul much appreciated
John, I’m too at that point of stripping and refitting my front light units as I’m slowly working my way around the car sending panels off one at at time to be resprayed. I hear the plastic head light trim is much more forgiving than the stainless steel earlier trim on the new paintwork during refitting. I’m sure with all the help on this site you will get things back together again 🤞
That’s great information and the photo makes the adjustment possibility so much clearer thank you all for your replies 👍
Ditto Peter like Justin put me on your list for MPH ring, happy to help with your costs incurred as I have stickers from Flea bay.
Well done 👏Thanks John sounds like a sensible place to start.
On several occasions got back into the right hand side of my car after filling with petrol to find the steering wheel was on the left hand side, always gets a giggle from the other people admiring the car 😂
Happy New Year and as Justin mentions thanks for all your invaluable help have a great 2022 and look forward to seeing you all on the field one day soon 🤞
David,
Make sure the rear windows are closed tightly as mine were half a turn open when my back seat and floor got wet, they do rely on a good seal between glass and rubber.Congratulations David,
Let the fun begin 👌Good luck David I hope it goes well 🤞
was wondering how it worked / how much it costs to get an expert to look at a car as logistically it looks quite tricky.
I paid £275.00 to have my car inspected which was the best money I have spent in a very long time, highly recommend anyone with limited knowledge to do this.
What a great tip 👍
David I have the EFI model and as mentioned by Peter after 50 years of wear and tear they can be temperamental although saying that it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. Jamie has got mine almost there and he is in the process of designing a Manuel choke system which resolves a lot of my issues with cold starting, once warm runs like a dream but as also mentioned above pay someone in the know to inspect before you buy it could save you so much heartache and money. Good luck 🤞
Thanks for the valuable info Paul, I can see how this would make things a problem if using the wrong size thumb handle but I was aware of the difference and mine is very slightly different to the original so hopefully a little fetling may resolve my problem but good advice never the less 👍
Thanks Robert,
I’m still trying to work out what happened to change the opening mechanism, looking at the new handles which are from Citroen Classic car parts and I must say are exceptional quality may have a slightly different size thumb catch to my originals that may well be a pattern replacement part.
So I may well adjust the rod to see if it makes a difference. -
