Just an update on my leak!
Withdrew the steering column, sphere and coil to track the leak which turned out to be the plate under the gear change brain which has the two rubber seals. Nightmare job only made possible by Jamie at Ds workshops magic touch, replaced the seals with everything in situ!! I’m amazed as I couldn’t even get the spanner on the two bolts.
The seals had white on them which was thought to be original seals so not too bad after 40 odd years unless they were old stock.
Thanks for all the input much appreciated.Looking great Paul, I can see the gear brain in your photo clearly without the heater motor in place 👍
Thanks Paul that photo is of great help in locating the gear change brain, looks to be a pig of a job if it is leaking from there, I’ll update as soon as I get a chance to look. Thanks Sean.
That sounds like the same area my leak is dripping from Paul, the furthest rear point at the bottom of the engine bay towards the direction of rear of car 👍
Thanks Paul, the gear brain is what I was trying to say in my original post, my Ds is lhd and I will Investigate all those areas you mention thank you. I’ll update any findings when I get another chance to work on the car.
Much appreciated Sean. Thanks John I should of said I had the front wing off and was able to eliminate steering rack and pressure regulator but I’ll keep delving into those other items you mention
Thanks for the guidance.Try Jamie at DS Workshop he may be able to help you. Tel 020 3417 0243

Nice work Paul it all gets exciting when things start going back in the car 👍
They are I believe also now in black.
Reminds me of my first test drive 😂
Looking much quieter Paul, amazing how noisy my Pallas is on the motorway! They tend to get quieter the faster you go.
Nice to see You putting things back together.Well done Paul it’s nice to see what’s behind the dash. I have just replaced my near side front door and still in the middle of refitting all the bits!! It’s endless as well as getting the shut lines presentable. I would be lost without Jamie’s advice and input as with you guys it would be impossible without your advice.
Keep up the good work and try to get it done in the next 81/2 years 😂Thanks David I’m glad you were able
To resolve your repair successfully. I’m sure I’ll be coming back to you in due course 😊David I too am due to repair this cable! I have been told by a clever chap that the front wing will need to come off and then the hooked end of the cable can be attached.
Let me know how you get in if you get to it before me. -
