Hi and thanks for the info.
Of interest this is my 4th C5 with hydroactive suspension. Me and C5s go back a long way with many other makes of car in-between, the best of which are Jaguar S type and Rover 75.
We have also had – Citroens BX, GS, C1, C2, C4, XM, Lomax 223, Pembleton Brookland and Burton . The last three being “Specials” based on the Citroen 2CV chassis. I no longer have the “Specials” as, due to arthritis, I was unable to get in and out of them! Pity as they were great fun.
Nothing can touch the ride quality of the C5 with its hydraulic suspension although a friend found the suspension made her sick due to its softness and slight rolling. Luckily the Mk3 has sport suspension as well which I find a lot better in town.
Ref the gearbox, as nothing is actually wrong with it, I shall leave well alone .
The only problem – if it is a problem – is the turbo taking a bit of time getting up to speed from a stopped position and this sometimes causes a thump in the gear box as it eventually gets going -only a couple of seconds delay though but may end up getting a refurb turbo sometime in the near future.
Regards,
Geoff.
