….and I’ve had a reply from the ‘io’ group. It’s mostly USA-based but Tony Jackson is British. Now living in France! What a group we are! ANYWAY, here’s what Tony said plus a link to circuit diagrams for ‘later efi cars’:
Hi, In case it helps, there is a set of circuit diagrams of the ECU for late injected cars in the DSeries green-fluid folder … patiently reverse engineered by Stuart McGregor of this list
Best wishes, Tony. And here is the link John:

I should have added: how is what you find on your ’75 different demo what the ’71 diagram. What did you expect to find?
I’ve had a couple of replies from Aussiefrogs and a diagram – though it’s a 71 diagram so i assume you already have this. Faulksy (who is rebuilding his (1971?) efi car for a second time after an under-bonnet fire destroyed it first time around has said:
” It sounds like someone has been at the wiring before and bodged it. The EFI loom is totally separate from the cars wiring and it does not connect to anything non EFI related e.g the horn relay. As far as I’m aware the EFI pinout never changed once the air temp sensor was added in ‘71. A few questions need answering;
does the car run?
What is the ECU part number?
What is the MAP part number
How many grey Bosch relays are on the side of the batter?
What colour are the cables in the EFI wiring loom?incidentally, only the air horns have a relay and that is mounted to the side of the compressor. There is no relay for reversing lights.”
I pointed out that the diagram I saw showed three relays (parts 3,4 and 5 in the diagram: ‘general feeder relay’, ‘pump relay’ and ‘impulse relay’) by the battery and fed by N25 – and will see what he says. But he knows his stuff.
I think the question is unclear? Do you want to know where the other pinouts on the computer lead (once you expected to go to relays) or do you want to know how to wire the relays since they aren’t fed by the pinouts as you’d expected? What do you want/ need to achieve please?
Hi again John
I took the liberty of asking your question on the ‘Ausiefrogs’ forum. they tend to have RHD cars (is yours LHD?) but I don’t think that should affect the answer. In for a penny…..I will also ask the question on a US forum!

Hi. My car is carb – so no direct experience. I looked and the only i.e diagrams i could find are dated “April 1971 on”. i suspect those are the one you already have access to? Hopefully someone with IE experience will chip in…..
Hi Sean. Not done mine but expect I’ll need to do so. I would be looking at one of the polishing kits used with a drill or similar and with different grades of grit/ polish and buffer – even then good results can take a long time. No short cuts!. I have see ‘restored’ bumper sets on sale at a specialists stall at an autojumble in Holland and they were awful! You could se marks where the polishing wheel had rotated. If you have deeper scratches i have read somewhere about using wet and dry with WD40 to first polish these out by hand – b ut please do research before you do anything too aggressive to them.
Hi Jeremy. Does your car have a four speed box?
If so, there is a fill plug on the flat gearbox top surface. and there is a ‘level plug’ on the side of the box on the the RHS (the exhaust manifold side. take out the top and side plugs, fill with oil until it is on the point of runing out od the side hole. I think it takes 2 litres?
Because doing this requires removal of the radiator shroud etc, some people use the side hole as both the fill hole, and as the ‘level check’ hole.
If you have a five speed box i think it’s basically the same: there are two grain plugs underneath (a second one especially for the fifth gear housing) but filling is the same – one hole on top and a hole on the side. the oil finds its way into the fifth gear area all by itself. it doesn’t’t have a sprat fill plug.
I think different DS lights over different years have different fittings – my long range, swivelling lights are Cibies and are the ones with those bulb covers but I have another pod with a ‘Marchal’ swivelling light and a different light fitting that would not take those covers. Ironically the fixed Cibie headlamp in that pod DOES have yellow bulb covers – whereas i have to rely on fitting a yellow bulb.
The citroen Classic site sites a number of bulbs, including some yellow ones and i’m sure an even greater range is available through the Net.
My QI lights are fine, but discovered I bent and broke the prong of one of my yellow headlamp bulbs when removing it. So I’m in the market too now!
A quick Google finds loads of yellow P45t fitting headlamp bulbs available 🙂
In which case David park’s photo above probably tells you what you need to know. Not a lot is exposed because of the gutter lip.

Very nice. It looks as though you tuck your DS ‘prayer mat’ under the car each night? Very handy. Seriously though, i’m sure you’re enjoying it.
Yellow bulbs: is your car a ‘proper’ Pallas with Cibie brand “QI” long range lamps? My car has a couple of yellow glass domes that the wire QI bulbs fit into.
No idea whether those are the normal fitting or whether there are clear glass alternatives. I’m sure these days you could by yellow “QI” bulbs if needed.
Scope creep – I have that t shirt in several sizes and colours………..
I don’t think you will be able to retro-fit a priming ever, though i did once muse on buying a repro pump for a later DS without lever, and a repro pump from an early Ds with lever and mixing and matching the parts. It was marginally cheaper that importing a pucker one from the USA. I’ve seen them cheaper in Europe since then.
Again, in terms of t shirts previously bought, I’ve also stropped my HP pump. If you’ve not seen it, this will either help or put you off:

I Googled a couple of things which strongly suggest that they are legal – with the UK and European requirements being that they can be white or yellow only. More research needs though i think.
Buying: ebay is a good bet. Even better E bay France. My Pallas has “QI” long range lamps. I have a set of yellow glass covers that fit over those. i don’t know if they were a standard fitting on the Cibie lights or an extra thing, but I get if I tried hard enough i could find the “QI” bulbs in yellow anyway.
What do you want photos of Justin? How the clips fit/ work?
My mate who fitted the pump with lever had gone through the bulb and non-return valve stages i think. On the basis of this thread, I asked whether the pump with lever worked…….
“That’s the whole point!
No other reason to fit it.With a normal pump, after 2 weeks of sitting idle, you have to turn the engine over and Over and OVER on the starter until enough fuel is drawn through for the engine to fire. It’s a common problem with high ethanol fuel All the time it’s wearing the starter and draining the battery.
With the priming pump it starts within seconds. I’m very pleased with it”
So there you have it 🙂
