Hi Robert
On the c post trim in the top corner there should be a small bracket to secure the rear of the trumpet. These often corrode away and leave the indicator loose. If you are feeling flush they are available here. I had to replace them on mine you can see some pictures here.Kind RegarDS

Question for Colin:
Sorry Paul, I was thinking of something else. As Peter said there is no O ring between the caliper halves.

Hi Robert
I must reiterate what folks are saying about not pressing the brake pedal. Whether you have released the pressure or not on the regulator you will still have a source of pressure to the braking circuit from the brake accumulator (the sphere on the n/s/f chassis leg) So don’t think you’re safe by releasing the pressure, the brake accumulator by design is a reserve of pressure in case all else fails.
When I said The main caliper securing bolts are effing tight you will need a good 6 point socket and a long bar or impact wrench, I tried my impact wrench at 10psi and 250Nm and it wouldn’t even think about shifting them. Don’t give up on these bolts, they will loosen. The problem is steel bolts going into aluminium fuse in place so use a good ½ or ¾ drive bar and 6 point impact socket and extra leverage on the end of the bar with steady pressure on the end of the lever, you may need a brave assistant to hold the socket in place (I used a length of scaffold pole as well 🙂 ) and they went with a scary bang so be carful of the paintwork on your front wings!

Hi Robert
I have done this job and there is nothing out of the ordinary. Just a few pointers. As Peter says put the car on axle stands at the front and chock the rear, even place a couple of small stands under the back, this makes life so much easier when you have finished the job.
Forget about the bleed screw on the pressure regulator you don’t need to touch this while working on the braking circuit, as long as nobody presses the brake pedal you’ll be okay. You will need to use the bleed screw on the regulator to correctly bleed the front brakes when you have finished – more on this later if you need more info.
As always cleanliness is essential as Peter says cover exposed pipe ends.
If you’re removing the caliper you might as well replace all the seals anyway, also replace the 4.5mm pipe seals you shouldn’t re-use them as good practise. Citroen Classics sell a rebuild kit here
The main caliper securing bolts are effing tight you will need a good 6 point socket and a long bar or impact wrench.
When you split the caliper there is a small ‘o’ ring seal which will need replacing.
There is a felt seal for the the piston, if you renew this soak in LHM overnight.
When everything has been built up you need to centralise the caliper to stop any brake judder, I can tell you how to do this operation later.
Any more questions, don’t hesitate.

Top O’ the day Robert
I would say yes, but don’t drain it.
Open the bleed nipple and put a pipe on it into a receptacle.
It’s imperative the piston goes back in squarely otherwise it may either nip the seal or jam/damage the piston.
I would carefully use two heel bars top and bottom of the piston and wiggle against the brake disc.
If it goes back in okay bleed the calliper and check for leaks
Hope this helps.Kind RegarDS

Hi Steve
I used Gris Rose which is readily available as it was a common colour on the A range for bumpers and wheels etc. The code is AC136 or EVA.
A closer match to the correct colour is RAL7044 Silk Grey or Gris Soie. But there is very little difference.

Yes Paul 180’s from Longstone Tyres – very helpful people and very careful with the newly painted rims. Would recommend even just for the free calendar!
