A month ago I got a pair of wheels balanced at Champion Auto Care, Copley Hill, Holbeck, Leeds. Their number is 0113 244 4464. They have the ‘spider’ adaptor to attach to the wheel balancing machine. They did a good job, I’ll use them again. The young man who did the work said it was the second time ever that he’d worked with a tubed tyre!

I can now answer my own question : the ATS tyre fitters at Pannal just south of Harrogate have an adaptor – a ‘spider’ which they are happy to attach to their tyre balancer if given a bit of notice. They do a good job.
