Thanks Paul, I’ll try replacing the gaskets, if no different I may try Peters remedy.
Peter, thank you for the diagrams I shall see if I can make up the bonnet opening tool although Colin’s screwdriver method did work (thanks Colin). You probably know but Franzose do a tool to keep the bonnet open at nearly 90 degrees.
Thanks Colin, I’ll give it a go. I did see the hole and did try with a metal rod – obviously didn’t get right contact. Cheers, Nick.
The longer pieces are spacers for the front bumper fixing. Where it bolts onto the chassis side runners they can be used to fill and space and slot over the fixing bolts.
In places where I had opened up the channel I had a metal ruler that I used to tap channel back.
With the benefit of a good clear picture (thanks Paul) I have managed to fit the strips – sore thumbs incurred in the process!
I was refitting old strips and the plastic was fairly hard but left out in the sun they warmed sufficiently to become more easy to work with. If it’s a job you need to do or are thinking of doing and re-using your old strips, either find a way of warming the strips or it might be worth investing in new strips that are probably softer and easier to fit.p.s roof was on the car
Thanks for your reply Paul, the picture is very useful. I’ll get a good look in daylight to see how it compares and check the channel opening.
