I think I’d try a drop of WD40 between the parts. Just let capillary attraction do its job and that might be all you need.

Are you sure about the 1400? The petrol engines were 1600 and 1900cc (same engine, different liners/pistons). I believe the diesel engines were 1600 and 1800 I think.

07968993826.I haven’t heard of your problem with cookies. Please send more info to me at members@citroencarclub.org.uk including operating system/s and versions. Does the problem arise after you’ve connected to your record i.e. it’s OK until you come to update the cars.
The site’s put together in WordPress so, if you know of anyone who could help, I’d certainly appreciate it!

The OfficeThanks for the comments.
Usage of the old forums all but dried up as Facebook became prevalent. These forums can’t compete, but they don’t cost us anything and there is no advantage in deleting them.
They give us the wherewithal to permanently store reliable technical information for the benefit of all members, now and into the future and it’s quite nice to not have to trawl through irrelevent content. It’s also a good place to keep a link through to the old forums which contain much valuable info.
Anyone with the password can use these forums as long as they identify themselves. As soon as we have the means of changing to a traditional user-name and password that we can link to the membership database we’ll change to a more familiar login. That link is essential to help keep the administrative overhead down and, to that end, Crossmember is currently looking into options.
Any member finding good stuff on Facebook (or indeed anywhere) is welcome to copy to here to keep that info stored and easily accessible for the future. For example, I intend to post content I’ve written in the past relating to GS and 2CV topics. If I put that on Facebook it would fade into obscurity over time and that, to me, is a wasted effort.
As ever, we’re open to all suggestions.
Happy New Year
PaulKevin
Your best bet is to contact Barry Annells at Bourne Citroen Centre. For his details see http://www.bourne-citroen-centre.co.uk

The car has found a new home and I forgot to say so here. Please keep watching; these cars do pop up from time-to-time.

Are the replacement wings GRP? Have you any flexibility on bumper height? Maybe you could find an original wing to trial fit which might give you a clue.

bbPress uses Gravatars and I haven’t had time to play with that yet. A Gravatar is an avatar that lives at https://gravatar.com/ which is a part of WordPress. Once you have set one up on your email address, it will be used at multiple sites when you log in (Globally Recognised Avatar). As we don’t have to log in to use these forums, they’ll unlikely work here and I have yet to decide what to do about that.

The stop/start systems are not straightforward. Some examples I’ve heard of not stopping include..
If you haven’t achieved a particular speed since the system last operated. If the engine is cold. If the engine has just started it’ll hold off until the battery’s fully recovered. If the battery condition is not good, if the aircon and heated rear screen are on – and so on. I expect the Dealer will be able to furnish you with a full list of decisions it makes.
Stephanie’s car has a mind of its own as to whether it stops or not and I’ve never bothered to figure it out. My old 2CV has a mind of its own as to whether it starts or not in the first place. Now, that I can understand.
Cheers
