Whilst the Berlingo van and Multispace had both sold very, very well in the decade since launch, the Multispace in particular had been criticised for being ‘too van-like’.
When the Berlingo Mk2 was first seen in 2007, it was not a great surprise that it was more refined than the predecessor.
With the simultaneous launch of a ‘smaller brother’, the Nemo, the Berlingo was also free to grow in size, a move helped by sharing the PSA ‘Platform 2’ architecture familiar from the C4. In turn, this platform can trace origins back to the 1991 ZX launch, through various generations and evolutions.
Unlike the original Berlingo, the Mk2 was not designed for multiple power-train options, and is only currently available with conventional petrol (1.6TU) or diesel (1.6HDi) engines.
