30th November – Christmas Lunch at The Turnpike Inn

I have confirmed a booking for 25 people at the Turnpike Inn, 12.30pm for a 1.00pm meal.  There isn’t a carvery any more so the choice will be from the normal Sunday lunchtime menu (around £16 for two courses) or the Christmas menu (3 courses with 4 choices at £22.95).  You will be able to choose on the day.  It is perhaps worth mentioning that on the lunchtime menu you can order smaller portions, ideal for those of you not wanting to stuff yourselves on the good food on offer.  You can check out the menus on; main menu for Sunday lunchtime, Christmas nights for the Christmas menu option.  Please let me know as soon as you are able if you will be attending so that I can confirm numbers with the venue.

14th December – Meeting re-arranged

The Technical Forum at GM Vehicles Services has been re-arranged to 25th January 2015 as Graham Morton is having a pre-Christmas holiday.  I’ll confirm details in December’s magazine.

2015 Events

The AGM will determine what next year’s events will be so hopefully the complete list will appear in December’s magazine.

Past Events

I wasn’t able to go to the Manchester Classic Car Show and haven’t had any feedback but there will, no doubt, be a report of the weekend in either this or next month’s edition of Citroenian.  I know one or two of our Members also went to the 25th Anniversary of the XM in Shropshire which again I’m sure will be reported in the magazine.

As this copy lands in the Editor’s inbox I will be taking the XM over to Graham Morton’s having decided to have the work done.  Principally this is driven by the fact I’ve taken on a work contract that means I’ll be on the road 4 days a week and whilst I’ve every confidence my 1987 Audi 80 will be more than up to the job, it’s on 6,000 mile classic insurance which would disappear in no time.  It also means I keep a Citroen on the road as I was considering selling it.  So, you never know, I may turn up at one of the other Section’s monthly meetings.

Until next time, stay well
