Welcome to the Citroën Car Club

Owners Club Of The Year!
British Motor Show

The Citroën Car Club, together with 2cvGB and the Traction Owners Club are delighted to announce that our joint presence at the British Motor Show, held in Farnborough in August, has been recognised by the organisers.

The three clubs have jointly been awarded their prestigious “Owners Club of the Year” award.

The three clubs fielded over 50 Citroëns at the show, spanning nearly 100 years of manufacture, with members travelling significant distances to bring their cars to join the display. A great recognition of the efforts everyone made!

Spectacular Finale to the Centenary Year

We were certain that the NEC Classic Motor Show would be a worthy round-off to so many great and memorable events, marking the 100th Anniversary of our cherished Citroën. Little did we know that this ‘show finale’ would turn out to be glorious indeed, in more sense than one.

On Friday, 8 November, our Club won not one but TWO much-coveted The Classic and Sports Car Magazine awards of 2019:
The Citroënian was named Club Magazine of the Year for the second time and our four-club strong combined display was recognised as The Best large Club Stand.

Well, how blooming marvellous is that?! Hearty congratulations and thundery ovations are due to the Citroënian Team who produce such an ‘impressive’ magazine, and to Nigel Wild & his team for organising a ‘mind blowing’ stand.

The judges commented:
“With over 200 nominations received – more than ever before – this [2019] was our most hotly contested awards yet, with every winner richly deserving their accolade…”

Club Magazine of the Year:
The Citroënian Magazine of the Citroën Car Club
This has always been an impressive publication, but this year The Citroënian Magazine has received a significant boost to celebrate the centenary of its featured marque, running at an impressive 112 packed pages each month. The Citroën Car Club’s title, edited by Anna Burmajster, is a worthy winner.

Best Large Club Stand:
Deux Chevaux Club of Great Britain, Citroën Car Club, Citroën Specials Club and Traction Owners Club
The judges were blown away by this year’s winning stand, a marque extravaganza to honour Citroën’s centenary, put together by the joint forces of the Deux Chevaux Club of Great Britain, the Citroën Car Club, the Citroën Specials Club and the Traction Owners Club.

I’d like to mention one other star of the NEC show: 1964 Citroën Bijou. It appeared on the list of “Our 18 favourite cars from the NEC Classic Motor Show 2019”, picked by 500 the Classic & Sports Car Magazine staff.
“This late example, known affectionately as ‘Monique’, has been with its current owner since November 1990 – bought following its owner’s first visit to that year’s NEC Classic Motor Show! Based on the 2CV but with styling influenced by the DS, this car was bought in a dismantled state and has since been slowly pieced together, as near to original as possible.”
Chosen by Lizzie Pope, associate editor.

Onwards and upwards! We can’t rest on our laurels and will have to up our game – yet again – in the forthcoming months to keep up with our own sparkling reputation. We now have the 17th ICCCR in Torun, Poland, to look forward to in 2022.

With thanks to the motley crew!
